Submission to Publication: Step-by-Step Process

Before submitting your work please carefully read our step-by-step process (described below) and submission guidelines here.

  • Prepare the manuscript according to the format guidelines. These describe formatting, categories, and what needs to be included in submissions.

  • Make sure your work is finalized and ready before submitting it here.

  • Our editorial team will read and evaluate the piece for fit, quality, and originality. 

  • You will be notified within 4–8 weeks if your work is a match for our publisher. 

  • We will provide you with our standard publication contract which will set forth all terms of publication including matters of compensation. 

    Authors must sign it before the editing process and publication.

  • Your work will be proofread and edited, and we will send a version for final approval.

  • We will work on the design and layout for the publication, including format and cover artwork, considering your ideas and feedback. 

  • We will choose and set a publication date for your work. 

  • The work will be published in both printed and digital versions, and sent to bookstores and digital selling platforms.

  • Upon publication, you will receive the payment previously agreed (one-time payment or on a monthly basis, depending on the agreement).

  • Each author will be responsible for their own marketing campaign. Front Porch will support the campaign by sharing content on social media and the website.
