Format:

  • All manuscripts must be in .doc, .docx, or PDF. 

  • Use standard formatting: 12pt font, Times New Roman, double-spaced.

  • Projects must be under 150,000 words. 

Submissions must include the following:

  • Author’s name and contact information.

  • A synopsis of no more than 2 pages of the work.

  • The word count (or line count for poetry).

  • The first 20 pages of the manuscript.

  • The author’s biography (no more than 200 words).

  • Links to the author’s social media platforms.

  • A query letter to the publisher outlining the following:

    • i. Explanation of the story’s origins

    • ii. Something about the writer 

    • iii. Why Front Porch should publish their work

Submission Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in submitting to Front Porch. Please read the guidelines and process below before submitting your work. 

Guidelines: 

  1. Authors must be unagented; i.e. not represented by an agent.

  2. All work must be original and unpublished (including self-published).

  3. No submission shall contain elements or use of AI in the creation of the work, whether in the outlining or writing of the manuscript.

  4. Manuscripts must be complete upon submission.

  5. We accept only one submission at a time. 

  6. Submissions are accepted year-round.
