behind the chair

Just as the name comes from the front porch where our founder, John, sat and listened to stories and told his own; the chair on our logo has its own special meaning. It is emblematic of the very chairs that sat on John's ancestors' porches, where tales of life were told firsthand in their purest forms, with their struggles, defeats and triumphs.

The chair honors the tradition of storytelling; it's a place where families, friends, neighbors and travelers have sat down and told their stories for generations. 

The chair is simple but it is a powerful place.
